Waterville AYSO is proud to be able to provide to its players an Equipment Recycling Program. As our Fall season rapidly nears, we’d like to remind families that they may pick up gently used cleats, shin guards and more at the Waterville Public Library for your child(ren) to use this season. All equipment is completely free. The only request we make is that you only take what you need for the season.
If you have gently used items cluttering up your closets, please feel free to contribute to the bin, too. We are always looking to keep up the supply of these items.
We hope everyone has a great Fall season. For more information on our Equipment Recycling Program, click here.

Waterville AYSO is holding a bottle and can drive to help raise money for equipment. As some may remember, AYSO is a non-profit organization. The fees we charge solely cover operating costs like insurance, purchasing of uniforms, and some equipment. To help maintain our equipment and fields, such as nets, flags, replacing goals (we currently need a new goal for U10 teams), paint to line the fields, and more, we sometimes need to supplement our fees with fund-raising events.
To help raise funds to cover these costs, Waterville AYSO is asking for the community to consider donating their bottles and cans under Waterville AYSO at the local Nickelback Redemption center. They are located at 79 North Stafford Ave. in Waterville.
Bottles and cans can be returned year-round at the following hours:
Tuesday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
We thank the community for your support of our program, which benefits the youth in our area!

Tomorrow is AYSO’s opening day in our area, and all games will take place tomorrow. Please be sure to check our updated schedules pages for game times and locations.
As we kick off our spring season, please keep in mind a few words from our Regional Commissionner, Jennifer Furner:
Suport Your Child: Support your child by giving encouragement and showing an interest in his or her team. Help your child work toward skill improvement and good sportsmanship in every game. Teach your child that hard work and an honest effort are often more important than victory. …
Always Be Positive: Parents are not participants on their child’s team. However, they do contribute to the success experienced by the child and the team. … Support all efforts to remove verbal and physical abuse from youth sporting activities.
Be Enthusiastic and Supportive: Let children set their own goals and play the game for themselves. Be careful not to impose your own standards and goals on your child. …
Reinforce Positive Behavior: The best way to help a child to achieve goals and reduce the natural fear of failure is through positive reinforcement. No one likes to make a mistake. … Enoucrage your child’s efforts and point out the good things your child accomplished.
Let Coaches Coach and Refs Ref: Coaches and referees are usually parents. They volunteer their time to help make your child’s youth soccer experiences a positive one. They need your support, too. What coaches and referees don’t need is your help in coaching from the sidelines. So please refrain from coaching during games and practices. Referees are not the “bad guys.” They are volunteers, too, and need your support and encouragement. …
Have a great opening day, everyone!
Now that you’ve registered (or if you haven’t, be sure to get your paperwork and payment to us by Friday, March 7th! Click here to see how!), remember to start planning the equipment you’ll need for your children.
